Carlsbad Relay for Life

Relay for LifeIt’s the time of the year again when people can help fight cancer at the Relay for Life Carlsbad happening on July 27, 2013 at 9:00 in the morning at Valley Middle School, 1645 Magnolia Avenue.

This event is hosted by the American Cancer Society and is a life changing program that brings together the community for one goal—celebrating the lives of brave souls who have battled cancer, remembering lost loved ones, and fighting back against the disease.

Relay for Life seeks a cancer-free future through raising funds for programs and services like research that aims to find new approaches in therapies as well as improving cancer patients’ quality of life, the Hope Lodge for patients who need to travel far to get their treatment, the Road to Recovery which aims to provide transportation services to cancer patients, Look Good…Feel Better which is a free service teaches women battling cancer beauty techniques to help them improve their appearance and self-image during chemotherapy and radiation treatments, and Reach to Recovery, a program that matches specially trained breast cancer survivors with people who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and who want to talk to someone who has been there.
