Oceanside Museum of Art Free Family Art Day

Join the Oceanside Museum of Art (OMA) and learn more about Mixed Media Sculptures at the Family Art Day happening on Sunday, March 3, 2012 from 1:00 to 4:00 in the afternoon.

This event is inspired by OMA’s exhibits: In Search of Shadows by artist James Hubbell and Flavia Gilmore’s assemblage exhibition: Paper, Wood, Metal. In this arts and crafts sessions, kids and their parents will be able to explore various media to use for their one-of-a kind creations. Featured at this activity are found objects, wood, paper, Styrofoam, tin foil, wire, yarn, and other similar things that can be put together for a wonderful piece of art. Participants will also get the chance to be part of the group sculpture in honor of the City of Oceanside’s 125th Anniversary.

This activity is open to all museum visitors. Snacks and other refreshments will be provided for kids. There will also be docent tours of the museum.
