The Oceanside Museum of Art (OMA) is inviting kids to the ArtQuest Summer Camp taking place on July 16th to 19th, 2013 from 9:00 in the morning up to 12:00 noon.
Open to kids between the ages of eight and twelve years, the ArtQuest program seeks to expose the youth to the Museum, create meaningful connections between the participants and the Museum’s exhibitions, and to foster success in a creative activity that aligns with other curriculum areas.
Participants will learn about various art mediums including painting, drawing, sculpture, and graphic design as well as elements and principles of art and the workings of a museum.
Volunteer educators will also introduce participants to various grade-specific subject areas, such as Life Science and the Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) and demonstrate art methods, techniques and tools in the gallery through the use of a specially-stocked ArtKart.
